Writing Salawat
The Prophet (
SAwA
) Says :
“ Whoever sends Salawat to me in a book or in writing, for as long
as my name remains in that book or writing, the angels continually
ask Allah to pardon him. “ 4

The Incomplete Salawat
The Prophet (
SAwA
) said : “
Whoever sends Salawat to me but not to my household, he will not
smell the fragrance of Heaven even though its fragrance could be
detected from a distance of fifteen years “ 5

Salawat and Requests
The Prophet (
SAwA
) says :
Sending Salawat to me causes your requests to be granted to you,
makes Allah pleased with you and purifies your actions. “ 6

One Salawat Equals Ten
thousand Salawats
A man approached Sultan
Mahmud Sabuktakin and said to him :
“ For a long time, I have
wanted to see the Prophet of Allah (
SAwA
) in my dream and pour out my
sorrow to him. Fortune attended me and I saw him in my dream last
night. I said to him :
' O Prophet of Allah, I have a loan of one
thousand dirhams ( a unit of money ) , which I am unable to pay. I
fear I might die with this burden of liability on my shoulders. '
The Prophet (s) said :
' Go to Mahmud Sabuktakin and get that
amount from him.'
I replied : ' Perhaps he may not believe me and I
asked Him for a sign.
Then the Prophet (
SAwA
) said : Tell him that the
sign is that he presents 30,000 Salawats to me in the early part of
the night and another 30,000 at the end of the night.'
When Sultan Mahmud heard
the dream he wept and confirmed the story.
He paid the debt and gave
an additional one thousand dirhams to the man.
The courtiers were
astonished and asked the Sultan : ' How could you confirm this man's
story ? We are always with you and we do not notice you reciting
Salawats. Even if someone busied himself reciting Salawats day and
night he still could not finish sixty thousand in that time
?
'
The Sultan replied: ' I
have heard from religious scholars that whoever recites this Salawat
once, it is as if he has done it ten thousand times. So I recite it
three times in the early part of the night and three times at the
end of the night. Therefore , the message that this man has brought
to me from the Prophet
(SAwA )
is correct and true.
My tears therefore are
tears of joy !”
This Salawat is :

بِسْمِ
اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
اَللّٰهُمَّ
صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
اَللّٰهُمَّ
صَلِّ عَلٰى سَيِّدِ نَا وَ
نَبِيِّنَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَ
اٰلِهِ ،
مَا اخْتَلَفَ الْمَلَوَانِ وَ
تَعَاقَبَ
الْعَصْرَانِ وَ كَرَّ
الْجَدِيْدَانِ وَ اسْتَقْبَلَ
الْفَرْقَدَانِ وَ بَلِّغْ رُوْحَهُ
وَ اَرْوَاحَ اَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ
مِنِّى التَّحِيَّةً وَّ السَّلَامًا

Bismillahir
Rahmaanir Raheem
Allahumma
salle 'alaa sayyidina wa nabiyyina,
Muhammadiw
wa aaleh,
maakhtalafal
malawaan,
wa
ta'aqabal 'asraan,
wa
karral jadeedaan,
was
taqbalal farqadaan,
wa
balligh ruhahu wa arwaha
Ahlibaitihi
minni tahiyyataw wa salaama

In
the Name of Allah The Lord of the Mercy, the Giver of Mercy
O
' Allah send blessings upon our Chief and Prophet,
Muhammad
(saw) and his Progeny,
as
long as the days and nights come and go,
as
long as the dawn and the dusk succeed each other,
as
long as the days follow the nights,
and
as long as the two stars of Ursa Minor approach each other ;
and
convey my greetings and salutations to his spirit
and
the spirits of his Household
